Current use: Possible but far from as profitable as during the glory days.
My first +EV opportunity, while I did not know the term then, was from when the UK bookmaker ladbrokes etablished itself in Sweden. They offered to double any money I deposited up to 200 EUR as long as a I played three bets.
I have never cared at all for sports but I deposited the full amount and played the favourite at three matches. I actually lost two of the bets but the idea stuck to me.
This was a time of a very agressive marketing period
